Yoga
Can I simply start by saying that yoga has indeed changed my life?

Yes, it sounds over the top, I truly believe that everyone who seriously and sincerely studies yoga, its traditions, and its practice will find growth and guidance. I have been practicing yoga since the age of twenty-five, although for many years that practice was indeed in an on-again, off-again style. That changed at the age of fifty, when I decided to fulfill a "bucket list" dream by enrolling in yoga teacher training. I have since completed both a 200 hour beginning training and a 300 hour advanced training, both at the same Yoga Alliance affiliated school. I have also studied Yin Yoga and am continuing my path in the Para Yoga tradition. I am also have attended trainings in Accessible Yoga, and strive to make all of my classes available to everyone in keeping with the principles taught by Jivana Heyman.

In 2014, I first joined Yoga Alliance. Currently I am registered as an RYT-500. I teach at the Cancer Support Community and have done workshops at the City of Hope. In the future, I hope to continue working with community-based yoga and with those who, for whatever reason, are reluctant to attend studio classes. Perhaps I can become a bridge between the two!

As a practitioner, my focus is on achieving greater facility with both asana, pranayama, and meditation. I read and study yogic philosophy, and find that time spent with the sacred tomes of yoga is indeed time well spent. I am particularly interested in the application of traditional yoga philosophy on daily living in our modern world.

I am a retired high school English teacher, currently working part-time as an educational consultant. When I´m not at work or practicing yoga, I am a wife, the mother of two bird children (known as my feathered kids), and a passionate knitter. Namaste to my readers, and thank you for allowing me to share my love of yoga with you!
